The King of Fighters 2001 is a 2D team fighting game developed by Eolith and BrezzaSoft and published by SNK. It was released for Neo Geo MVS arcade hardware in 2001. Players form four-character teams and assign members as fighters or strikers who assist during 1-on-1 rounds. It follows The King of Fighters 2000 and was followed by The King of Fighters 2002.
